OPC UAプロトコル（https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/OPC_UA）は、2番目のファームウェアバージョンのSimaticコントローラーとステップ7バージョン14で初めて登場しました。その後、コントローラーはOPC UAサーバー、つまりPLCとしてのみ構成できました。要求に応答してデータを送信することはできましたが、通信を開始して他のネットワーク参加者に問い合わせることはできませんでした。
